Solvents With Safety Limited

Formed in 1984 as a private limited company, Solvents With Safety Limited was originally located in Sheffield.  The company marketed small volumes of solvents through the installation at customers’ premises of refillable fire proof dispensers – hence the name Solvents With Safety Limited.

In 1989 the company was granted a Waste Transfer Station licence which allowed it to collect hazardous wastes from its solvent customers.  The company operated in this way until 1994 when with the appointment of a new management team it was decided to change the marketing strategy and move towards higher volume customers.  Following four years of rapid growth it became clear that the business was outgrowing the Sheffield site and a search was mounted for an alternative.  In July 1998 an opportunity arose to purchase the business and site of a competitor.  The move to our current site was completed in 1999 and this, coupled with the upgrading of our transport fleet, ensured that we were able to offer the ‘one stop shop’ approach of solvent supply and hazardous waste disposal services to all our customers.

Today the company operates from its site near Doncaster in South Yorkshire and is one of the largest operators in its field with national coverage through its own fleet of modern curtain sided tail lift equipped vehicles.  It packages and distributes solvents in size ranges from 1 litre to 1000 litres and specialises in formulating and packing bespoke blends for customers’ needs.  Its waste disposal division deals with all types of hazardous waste and also offers a full consultancy and training service.  A recent addition to our waste disposal services is a customer direct collection service.  This is fully managed and operated by ourselves and is proving very popular with our customers.
